DAY 99 - What Are You Growing In?

“May the lord make your live increase adn overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 3:12
We live in a day and age where everyone has an opinion and isn’t afraid to share it. Never before have I had the ability to post a thought or feeling on a platform where the entire world has access to seeing my thoughts.
I’ve found that in this season of life that can be both a good and a bad thing. While the internet and social media platforms are inherently neutral when it comes to morality, they have the ability to evoke feelings and emotions that can push us to be better, or push us to be a lesser version of who God has called us to be.
We live in a day and age where cancel and rage culture triumph, and it’s more “woke” to let people know what you’re adamantly against than what you actually stand for and are fighting for in your life. And I think this mindset begs the question: What are you growing in?
Every day you grow. Maybe not physically anymore but spiritually, mentally, emotionally we have no neutral days . We see in 1 Thessalonians 3 Paul urges the church to make an effort to increase in a love that “overflows” for each other. That sounds radically different than the cancel culture we currently find ourselves in.
1 Corinthians 13 tells us that love is patient and kind. It actually doesn’t look to dishonor others and actually keeps no record of wrong to hang over others heads. What a stark contrast to the day and age we’re living in.
What would our world look like if we took the words of Paul seriously and made an active effort to grow in an overflowing love for others today? How would your soul feel if the only prayer you prayed was: “Lord may my love increase and overflow?”
