DAY 131 - GOD’S HELP
KEATON TUCKER, YA GROUPS TEAM LEAD
“To this day I have had the help that comes from God. Acts 26:22
The Apostle Paul is standing before King Herod Agrippa in this passage because he is on trial for proclaiming the message of Jesus and the way of Jesus when he said the words in the verse above. Prior to these words, he recalls the words Jesus gave to him for his assignment to preach to the gentiles. Jesus says this to Paul:
“I am sending you to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me” (Acts 26:18)
Paul has been given an assignment from Jesus and Paul follows that assignment for the rest of his life better than anyone who has lived. Paul never met Jesus, at least not in the flesh. But Jesus spoke clearly to him and guided him his whole life.
You too have an assignment from God, from Jesus, that is for people to turn from dark to light. It might be specific to your life or to your situation, but that is part of your assignment. And if you feel like God hasn’t given you that assignment, find someone he has given it to and help them out.
It’s important to remember, and Paul makes this so clear, that it is by the help that comes from God that we are able to do what he has asked us to do.
Think about that for a minute.
God gives you and me an assignment, a call, a mission, but then gives us the help we need to make sure it can be completed.
The help that comes from God is not just for assignments, it's for your whole life. God wants to help you in whatever way you need help. He doesn’t want you to use your own strength, he has plenty to lend you. All you have to do is ask.
And then say thank you cause it’s pretty awesome that he gives assignments and then come along to help.
Grace and Peace.Grace and Peace.
