DAY 111 - JUST SAY YES

ANDREW MATRONE, YA MINISTRY LEAD

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

Any risk-takers reading right now? If so, I envy you. I am not a risk-taker, even in the slightest! Ever since I was young, I was one to play it safe. I've always gone by the motto, “I’ll watch you try something and if it works out ok and you don’t die, then just maybe I’ll try.” Unless I was guaranteed safety, I was more likely to stand on the sidelines and watch from a distance,  because I could control that. If the end result was not guaranteed, I would not partake!

Funny thing is, this is how we can oftentimes treat our relationship with God. For some reason, before we take a step of faith, we want the “GUARANTEED” stamp on the box that if I step out, I won’t fall flat on my face. We want to control the outcome.

Can I let you into a little secret? Having a guarantee is fine and all when it comes to the world we live in today, but when it comes to God’s purpose for our lives’, when it comes to God’s destiny for our lives, God does not develop us through the safety and security of what we can control. With God, there is no guarantee. You can have faith or you can have a guarantee, but you can’t have both!

Many of us in this season have felt God tugging on our hearts or calling us to something or calling us away from something. Maybe for you, God has been calling you to leave that job or that relationship… Maybe for you, God has been calling you to tell someone about your addiction… Maybe for you, God has called you to be generous with your finances, BUT because you don't know what lies on the other side of that step of faith, you’ve chosen to stay in the safety of what you know and what you can control.

Unfortunately, this is the routine many Christians are headed for: the boring and mundane. But please hear me… the abundant “John 10:10” life Jesus came to bring you and I will not be found in the safety of what we can control. The abundant life Jesus came to bring us will be found when we step out into the unknown! Faith says, “I may not see it, but I believe it… I may not know it, but I trust it!” If you want God-like results, you need to take God-like steps and God-like steps are steps of faith!

TWO QUESTIONS TO PONDER:

  1. What in this season has God been calling you to?

  2. Have you chosen FAITH or CONTROL?

LISTEN… Your greatest life, is on the other side of your yes. Your greatest career, is on the other side of your yes. Your greatest relationship, is on the other side of your yes!

With no guarantee, take a step of faith this week and watch God move.

Praying for you!
