DAY 57 - MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION

MILANNA MARTILLARO, YA CREATIVE & PRODUCTION TEAM LEAD

β€œAll this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.”  2 Corinthians 5:18-19

What is the ministry of reconciliation? Reconciliation in itself is the idea of two parties who were once at war with each other are brought back together and make amends and to bring a peace offering into their conflict.

Sin brought war between God and humanity. It wedged conflict between us and our creator. It kept us far from God, unable to reconcile ourselves because of our humanness, or our sinfulness. God, recognizing this, sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ to be the ultimate peace offering. Jesus laid down His life so that whoever accepts His forgiveness and His grace for sin, could be reconciled to Him.

Jesus brought reconciliation to our fallen world.

Because of this, we are now entrusted, by God, with the ministry of reconciliation. The peace offering and ultimate sacrifice of God to bring reconciliation now becomes our ministry. Because this offer of reconciliation is for the whole world. This means we must now share the good news of what Jesus has done for us, with everyone. God is now using us, as vessels of Jesus Christ, to continue His message of reconciliation.

What an honor.

With this ministry, we are instructed to bring the message of reconciliation. Because only God himself could bring reconciliation to sin. So our responsibility then, is not to try and reconcile others to God, but to bring His message and ministry of reconciliation. To simply share Jesus with those around us. This is the ministry of our lives.
